A 200-kilometre walk from Calgary to Banff has raised more than $25,000 in support of frontline hospitals in Ukraine.

Oleksandr Kyyanytsya completed the emotional journey on July 27 after setting out from Calgary on July 3. His goal was to raise funds and awareness for medical teams working in war-affected areas of his homeland.

Organizers had initially hoped to raise $20,000, but thanks to strong community support, they’ve already exceeded that mark and are now aiming for $30,000.
