The Airdrie Urban Farm Collective made a number of donations to the Airdrie Food Bank in July.
Near the middle of the month, they donated 10 pounds of fresh rhubarb, Swiss chard, and lettuce.
At the end of the month, 39 pounds of fresh beets and carrots were also donated to the food bank.
This brings the total pounds of fresh produce the collective has donated to the Airdrie Food Bank to 347. At the beginning of the growing season, they set a goal to donate 1000 pounds.
At the end of June, 280 pounds of lettuce were donated.

You are able to purchase produce from the garden for any amount of donation that you can afford, or if you work on the garden, you are able to take some produce home with you if it is ready.
The community-run garden was built on donations as they gather each Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesday nights during the summer (6 p.m. until 8 p.m.) to take care of the garden; anybody is allowed to join the collective.
