The Weyburn Humane Society is rallying to move some future-pets from the shelter into local homes, as well as for their annual vehicle raffle fundraiser.

Currently, they have a special for the month of August, a $50 adoption fee.

"Hopefully that does help move some of the cats and dogs because there are some that have been there for a while, so and it's not a great life to be stuck in a kennel," shared Board Chair Bev Paul.

She said some of the cats have been with them for quite some time.

"Right now, when the weather is good, they get outside in the cat runs and they love it. They hate to go back into the kennels at night. There are sometimes three in a pen."

"They really get along they play and try to climb up on the fence, but they can't get out because they're screen over the top," she shared.

Another way to view certain adoptable cats is at Pet Valu. "They're great supporters that really help out immensely."

You can follow the WHS on Facebook to see featured pets along with descriptions of their personalities.

Members of the WHS board are still selling raffle tickets for their 2025 Jeep Compass North 4x4. Tickets are $100, with the Jeep being the top prize, as well as two cash prizes. The Ride for Paws, Support the Cause vehicle raffle is now coming to a close in October 23rd due to a recent date change. Tickets are also available directly at the animal shelter, open from 1 to 7 p.m.
