This weekend will be filled with warm sunshine and events throughout the Foothills.

Let's see what's happening this weekend:

Friday, August 8:

As part of Nature Fridays in Okotoks, this week, they will be teaching about wetlands at the Okotoks Environmental Education Centre from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. At this, youth will discover the amazing world of wetlands and how they are essential ecosystems.

In Okotoks, the Nooks & Crannies Festival is happening, and there are hidden pieces of art around town. They will be art pieces on display for everyone to check out for free until Aug. 23.

The Okotoks Public Library is hosting their Friday Flicks event from 2 to 4 p.m., and people will be able to bring their family down to the library and enjoy a movie. This week's movie is Holes.

Over at the Okotoks Art Gallery, they have their summer exhibits on display. One of those exhibits is the Member Show and Sale, while the other is the Colour Your World exhibit, which encourages youngsters to pick up a crayon and colour.

At the Viking Rentals Centre in Okotoks, the Okotoks Farmers' Market will be taking over the parking lot from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., and vendors will be selling fresh food, treats, and more.

The Okotoks Night Markets will be taking place in Ethel Tucker Park, right beside the library, from 4 to 9:30 p.m. There will also be music at the Market.

In the Drake Landing community of Okotoks, the Okotoks Film Festival is hosting their Pop Up Flicks, which will be playing comedy short films from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be free popcorn to go along with the free films.

In High River, there is a 5 km Bubble Run from 6 to 9 p.m., and people will be able to run, walk, or dance their way through massive colourful bubble bogs.

At the High River Ag Society, they are hosting the Guy Weadick Pro Rodeo all weekend. This rodeo was originally scheduled for June, but heavy rainfall caused it to be postponed until this weekend. There will be bareback bronc riding, bull riding, team roping, and more.

Every Friday night at the Okotoks Rec Centre is Youth Night, and those 18 years old and younger will be able to enjoy the pool and the gymnasium at the Rec Centre until 10 p.m. and the Youth Centre until 11 p.m.

Saturday, August 9:

Down in Longview, the Longview Country Market will be happening across from the Longview Elementary School from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Okotoks Elks Club is hosting a perogy lunch and meat draw, with food being served at noon.

The Nooks & Crannies Festival continues all weekend in Okotoks.

At the Okotoks Art Gallery, their summer exhibits will be on display until September.

Over at the High River Ag Society, the Guy Weadick Pro Rodeo continues all weekend.

As part of the Venue Summer Series in High River, the Erratic Theatre Players will be performing "This Play Has Zombies", starting at 7 p.m. This is a chance to get a sneak peak of this play before it heads up to the Edmonton Fringe Festival.

Sunday, August 10:

The Nooks & Crannies Festival will continue until Aug. 23.

The Guy Weadick Pro Rodeo continues all weekend, with the fun starting at 2 p.m.

The Okotoks Dawgs will be hosting game 1 of WCBL West Division Finals
