Central Plains Cancer Services is bringing back a popular event this fall with Sip & Stroll, a relaxed evening of tasting wine, beer, and spirits.

The event will take place on Friday, September 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Portage Golf Club, on holes one and nine.

Sharilyn Knox, executive director of Central Plains Cancer Care Services, notes the event was a hit in previous years before the pandemic paused it.

Knox adds that while the setting is on the golf course, “there’s no golf involved. It is just an evening of strolling and sipping and tasting some wine, beer, spirits, that sort of thing.”

Attendees can expect raffle prizes and appetizers to round out the experience.

Tickets are $40 each and include access to more than 10 tasting stations, featuring products from vendors across Manitoba and beyond.

Knox mentions, “One thing is that we did say that we want them to all be Canada-made products this year."

She continues, “We’re excited to see what they bring.”

Tickets are available now at the Central Plains Cancer Services office, located in Portage la Prairie, Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The event offers a great opportunity to enjoy the fall weather, sample a variety of drinks, and support a local cause.

For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Central Plains Cancer Services by phone at 204-857-6100 or email info@cpcancerservices.ca.
