Local musician Robert Godfrey says his upcoming performance at Woodlawn Regional Park’s Binzebo will be “a roller coaster for sure.”

Godfrey is set to take the stage on Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 7 to 8 p.m. as part of the park’s summer concert series. The event is free with a gate pass.

“I was sure honoured to get the call from Woodlawn Regional Park,” Godfrey said. “A really cool opportunity to get to perform in this space.”

The Binzebo, a converted grain bin near Met Stadium, has hosted several live shows this season. Godfrey said the venue offers flexibility depending on the weather.

“Whether you're singing directly in the Binzebo or singing outside, we're gonna play it by ear,” he said. “Both spaces are fantastic and just a really cool place to be.”

Godfrey said his setlist will span multiple genres.

“I love to sing country. I love R&B. I like some show tunes,” he said. “The hardest part is always trying to figure out how am I going to mix this all together.”

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. Godfrey said the location is accessible by car or bike.

“Hopefully I'll have a song for you,” he said. “No matter your music taste, there should be something — at least one song — that you like.”
