The Town of Nanton has received grant funding to help preserve the town's history.

Funding through the Heritage Preservation Partnership Program will be used to support Community Design Strategies to identify heritage buildings that could potentially receive official heritage designation.

As a first step, Community Design Strategies will conduct a "windshield survey" of heritage buildings currently listed in Nanton's Heritage Resource Information Management System (HeRMiS).

The survey will help the town update the heritage site inventory and identify high-priority sites for future community consideration.

Over the coming weeks, residents could see team members around town or asking questions about specific buildings.

Anyone with information that could help with the project is encouraged to contact the town at 403-646-2029.
