Member of the community, waterpark and Long Lake Insurance celebrate the new water accessible wheelchair
Categories

Not even the rain on Thursday could put a damper on the pool party held at the Lanigan & District Waterpark.

The celebration was held to recognize the newest piece of equipment added to the facility, the water accessible wheelchair sponsored by Long Lake Insurance.

At the grand opening of the waterpark in Lanigan, Long Lake Insurance pledged to provide the water accessible wheelchair.

Director of Commerical Lines for Long Lake Insurance Caryn Stepp was on hand for the presentation on Thursday and says the contribution of the water accessible wheelchair is more than a piece of equipment.

“It's a symbol of our shared commitment to building communities that are inclusive, accessible and welcoming to all. We are proud to align this donation with the town of Lanigan's Inclusion and Diversity policy which reflects the values that Long Lake Insurance believes in.”

Stepp adds they were able to sponsor something that will have an everlasting impact at the waterpark.

“We're really looking forward to seeing the chair being used in the pool and being able to have all members of the Community able to use the facility.”

She noted the donation of the water accessible wheelchair was a great opportunity for Long Lake Insurance, who have 14 locations in the province including Cudworth and Viscount.

Despite a wet day outside of the pool, there was plenty of traffic inside of the water, as kids enjoyed the state-of-the-art facility including the waterslide that was recently added this past spring.

Lanigan Co-Operative Day Care was on hand holding a free barbecue and raising funds with a 50/50. A new facility that will hold 90-space is under construction in the community.

If you’re looking for a place to cool down in August, the Lanigan & District Waterpark will have you covered, no matter what age you are.
