With nearly three decades of professional experience and a passion that dates back to his high school days in Canmore, Paul Tait is bringing something different to the car audio and electronics industry in southern Alberta. His business, Better Call Paul Fabrication and Design, is built around one core principle: offer better solutions and make life easier for the customer.

"I'm a mobile car audio and electronics business based in Airdrie," says Tait. "I do remote starters, car audio, dash cameras – all that good stuff. But the key is that I come to your house or business. It’s one-on-one, personalized service."

Turning passion into profession

Tait has been immersed in car culture for most of his life, growing up in an automotive family and spending his youth working on vehicles. "I’ve always been a car guy," he says. "In high school, I was the one people came to when they wanted their stereo or speakers installed."

After graduating, he realized his hobby could be a viable career. In 1998, he travelled to Ontario to take a professional course in car audio installation – and he hasn’t looked back since.

"I've worked for a lot of shops in the area, but a year and a half ago, I decided to go out on my own because I felt my clients deserved better," he explains.

Music, memory, and the modern commute

Whether it’s installing a high-end stereo system or a reliable dash cam, Tait says the real reward is helping people enjoy their time behind the wheel.

"We all remember what it was like in high school, cruising around with a great stereo," he says. "People think they can’t have that anymore – it’s too expensive or too complicated. But I can still give them that experience."

From car starters that make cold Alberta mornings more bearable to custom audio that brings music to life, Tait’s services are about more than just electronics. "If I can make someone’s commute a little more enjoyable, that’s a win," he says.

Giving back to the community

Tait says his business wouldn’t be possible without the support of the local community – and giving back is a priority for him.

"The Airdrie community is the reason I have a business today and the way I can feed my family," he says. "I owe any success I have to the local community."

A resident of Airdrie since 2007, Tait and his wife have raised their two children here, and he says he couldn’t be happier with that decision. "I love being part of a smaller community and I’ve always wanted to give back more. Now that I own my own business, I’m in a place where I can."

He regularly donates to local fundraisers and charities and recently sponsored the Airdrie Dads Golf Tournament for the first time. He also joined the 100 Men that Give a Damn group in Airdrie, which supports grassroots causes.

"100 Men awarded my daughter and her Girl Guide group $10,000 so they could travel to Europe last year, and it was a life-changing experience for them," he says. "Now I have the ability to help make this a stronger, more supportive community. We want to help make Airdrie a better place to live."

Trusted brands and quality work

Tait is proud to be the southern Alberta authorized reseller for Kicker car audio, a brand known for its premium sound equipment. He also installs Viper-brand remote starters, which he describes as industry-leading in reliability and performance.

"I focus on quality," Tait says. "Quality products, installation, and the convenience of coming to you. It’s car audio done better."

A better option for Airdrie and beyond

For Tait, it's all about improving the standard. "I want people in Airdrie and the surrounding area to know there’s a better solution," he says. "Better products, more convenience, and service that’s actually enjoyable."
