The Western Canadian Baseball League’s most familiar playoff rivalry is back for a fourth straight summer, as the Okotoks Dawgs and Sylvan Lake Gulls square off once again in the West Division final.

The Gulls wrapped up their series against the Lethbridge Bulls in two straight games to once again face the Dawgs, who awaited the result.

Game 1 is Sunday (Aug. 10) at 2:05 p.m. at Seaman Stadium in Okotoks. The series shifts to Sylvan Lake the next night at 7:05 p.m. Should a third game be required, it will return to Okotoks on Tuesday night, also starting at 7:05 p.m.

The Dawgs have owned the script so far, eliminating the Gulls in each of their previous three postseason clashes. Okotoks swept the series in both 2021 and 2022, and last year needed all three games before clinching the win in Sylvan Lake. In that span, the Dawgs have collected three consecutive league championships. The Gulls, meanwhile, are determined to flip the storyline and finally topple their Alberta rivals.

Cochrane's Simon Baker plays for the Gull.

In the East Division, the Moose Jaw Miller Express are in Saskatoon to face the Berries in the deciding game of their semifinal series. The winner will advance to face the Regina Red Sox in the division final. The series is tied at one apiece.
