Assiniboia Aces win Senior AA Tier 2 baseball provincials

Home cooking paid off for the Assiniboia Aces.

They won the Senior AA Tier 2 baseball provincials on their home field by a 7-6 win over Findlater in the championship game.

Assiniboia went undefeated in the tournament starting with an 8-2 win over Findlater, a 4-3 win over North Battleford, and a 15-2 victory over Cabri in the round robin.

Cabri went 0-3 in the tournament.

Meanwhile, the Gull Lake Greyhounds were eliminated in the semifinal of the Senior AA Tier 4 provincials in Hanley.

They lost 6-4 to Pasquia, before beating Central Sask 11-7 and Hanley 11-3 in the round robin.

Gull Lake then lost 13-12 to the Pasquia Angels in the semifinal. 

The Angels ended up beating Rosetown 21-8 in the gold medal game.
