A phone call from a concerned resident led to the discovery of a stolen vehicle and a large quantity of stolen property by the Calgary Police Service (CPS).

Police say the resident spotted a suspicious truck in the McKenzie Towne area on Friday, Aug. 1. The vehicle’s bed appeared to be filled with assorted items, prompting the call.

Officers arrived about 15 minutes later and confirmed the truck had been reported stolen.

The truck's bed was packed with various items, including power tools, three bicycles, a set of rims, two generators and a printer, all believed to have been taken in separate incidents.

The truck was towed from the scene and returned to its owner. Police are now working to identify the rightful owners of the other property.

Anyone who believes they're the rightful owner of any of the stolen items is asked to call (403) 266-1234.

The investigation is ongoing.
