Highway 40 in K-Country has reopened to traffic.

Both lanes were closed last week due to a mudslide caused by all the rain the Foothills and the Rockies experienced.

At times this week, there might still be alternating traffic lanes as crews continue to clean up the area; however, on Sunday, both lanes were open to all traffic.

The mudslide happened about 200 feet south of the Mount Lipsett day use area.

Aecon Construction is also doing some paving work in the area over a 33-kilometre stretch, causing a few slowdowns.

According to the Alberta 511 page, the construction is supposed to wrap up this Friday, August 15th.
