Friday, Saturday, and Sunday were the 55th Annual Show at Pioneer Acres, showcasing the history of pioneering here in Alberta.
Diana Rowe, the marketing coordinator for Pioneer Acres, explained that while Friday was wet and rainy, Saturday and Sunday were perfect weather for what they had planned during the day.
"Saturday, we were able to move forward with all our live demonstrations. Over the two days, we were able to complete all the field work, and we even hilled potatoes with horsepower, and we dug them all up with horsepower on Sunday."
Other demonstrations that were held during the event included tractor pulls, equipment parades, blacksmith demonstrations and many more.

This year, Pioneer Acres celebrated 100 years of Caterpillar industrial equipment.
"We were able to share the history of Caterpillar equipment in agriculture, starting way back in the early 1900s."
Rowe was excited about the Sunday horse parade as well.
"The Calgary Stampede royalty, which included the Stampede Princess and First Nation Princess, rode in our horse parade. That was pretty exciting to have the royalty visit us at Pioneer Acres."
Pioneer Acres had under 1000 visitors on Friday, 2400 people on Saturday, and 1500 on Sunday.
"This truly is where history comes alive, at Pioneer Acres during our annual show. We're open from May to October, and we have numerous displays and exhibits on site that you can go into and see."
Rowe concluded by saying the 56th Annual show will take place August 7, 8 and 9 next year and will feature steam power.
