The Humboldt Vintage Club is gearing up for a special milestone this summer, as it celebrates the 30th anniversary of Vintage Days — a beloved two-day event that brings the community together to celebrate prairie heritage, antique machinery, and good old-fashioned fun.

Set to take place Saturday, August 16 and Sunday, August 17 at the Humboldt Vintage Club site, just south of Humboldt on Highway 20, the 2025 edition promises to be one of the biggest yet. This year’s theme centers around recognizing the club’s founding members and three decades of dedicated community involvement.

“This year is actually going to be our 30th anniversary,” said Wes Crone, president of the Humboldt Vintage Club. “We are celebrating that by honouring our founding members. Some of them are still with us, and we’re hoping they’ll be able to join us on stage or take part in some interviews.”

Among the founding members expected to attend are Albert Schriner, Lynn Richardson, Greg Brockman, Ken Klassen, Cliff Thiemann and Gary Karst.

“Of course, some of our founding members are no longer with us, but we want to take time to acknowledge the people who started this all,” Crone added.

Two Days of Activities

Saturday kicks off with one of the event’s most popular traditions - the vintage tractor pull. Weigh-ins run from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m., with the competition starting at 11 a.m. “No pre-registration is necessary,” said Crone. “As long as they’re weighed in by 10:30, they’re in.”

Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy:

  • Full concessions including the always-popular elephant ears

  • Access to the boarding house and its static displays

  • A petting zoo

  • 50/50 tickets, silent auction, and a raffle

  • The well-loved Tea House, open all day

On Sunday, the festivities continue with the famous pancake and sausage breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Admission for breakfast is $10 for adults, $5 for kids aged 6–12, and free for children under 5.

Following breakfast, there will be a brief tribute to the club’s founding members before live music begins at 1:00 p.m., featuring local favourites The Dixielanders performing until 3:00 p.m.

Weather permitting, the day will wrap up with the threshing demonstration around 3:15 p.m., along with other heritage demos like wood cutting, rope making, and blacksmithing. Crone noted, “We’re also hoping to have someone doing a bit of lathe work with wood too.”

Activities for All Ages

Families will find plenty to keep young ones entertained. Kids can enjoy:

  • Mini steam engine rides

  • Cornhole toss

  • The “Smiling Rainbow Fish Pond”

And if all goes according to plan, a team of horses will also be on hand giving rides, a feature Crone said was “a big hit” last year.

Admission and Gratitude

Daily admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youth (6–12 years), and free for kids under 5. Admission covers all displays and demonstrations for the day.

Crone emphasized that none of this would be possible without community support.

“A huge thank you goes out to all our volunteers and sponsors,” he said. “This two-day event takes countless hours and helping hands to pull off. We couldn’t do it without them.”

With a packed lineup of heritage displays, family fun, and heartfelt recognition of its roots, this year’s Vintage Days promises to be a memorable celebration of the past — and a lively look ahead to the future.
