Manitoba country artist Byron Falk says fans have been waiting for new music, and now it’s "finally" here. His latest single Stare into the Sun has officially been released, and added to our local music lists here at Golden West, marking a fresh chapter for the cattle-ranching singer-songwriter.

“I’ve always thought songs belong as a package… when you listen to these songs, you’re gonna feel something...” - Byron Falk, on the idea of releasing his next EP.

The single stands out not only because of the 2-year wait for its' release, but also for the imagery and authenticity that define his songwriting. Inspired by the sweeping prairie sunsets of Manitoba, the song captures the feeling of running west toward the horizon.

Living the life he sings about

When he’s not writing and performing, Falk is busy tending his herd of black Angus cattle. The rancher lifestyle is deeply woven into his music.

“I’ve always thought what I sing about, I want it to be pretty legit,” he said. “In the beginning I often wrote about things I dreamed, but now I want to sing from the most authentic place I can.”

That authenticity, he notes, might not land him on Top 40 country radio, but it keeps his songs rooted in truth. From ranch life and rodeos to real-world stories that resonate with his audience.

“Stare into the Sun” Available Now

After keeping the project tightly under wraps, a strategic change from past releases, Falk says the moment his song went live online was surreal.

Fans can now stream Stare into the Sun everywhere music is available. And based on Falk’s enthusiasm, it won’t be the last they hear from him.

With its sweeping melodies and vivid prairie imagery, the single invites listeners to slow down and appreciate the beauty of the everyday. It’s a song that feels both personal and universal, pairing the warmth of Falk’s storytelling with the timeless glow of a Manitoba sunset. A reminder that sometimes, the simplest moments are the ones that shine the brightest.
