The Calgary Police Service (CPS) has charged a man with aggravated assault after a stabbing over the weekend in the city’s southwest.
Officers received a report of a stabbing on Aug. 9 at approximately 3:20 a.m., that occurred inside a residence on Bridlecrest Manor S.W.
Inside the residence, one man was found suffering from injuries.
He was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition, where he remains.
When police arrived on the scene, the suspect fled.
Through an investigation, it was determined that the individuals involved in the incident were known to each other, and a suspect was quickly identified.
At approximately 9 a.m., the suspect returned to the residence and was taken into custody.
As a result, 41-year-old Cody Lee Bruesewitz of Calgary was charged with one count of aggravated assault.
He is scheduled to appear in court today (Aug. 13).
