Southwest Saskatchewan is in for an action-packed weekend of family activities and a plethora of events.
From a local rodeo to a community-wide celebration and an annual car show, Saturday, August 16, and Sunday, August 17, are sure to boast something to pique everyone's interest.
Saturday will also include;
- The Celebrate Maple Creek event will take place with nearly half a dozen events all day long, including a light horse show, street dance, and art show.
- The Eliminators Car Club's 45th annual Riverside Run at Elmwood Park in Swift Current from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Southwest Open exhibition reception from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the West Wing Gallery in Swift Current.
- Herbert Ranch Rodeo kicks off at 2:00 p.m. at the Herbert Rodeo Grounds.
- Riverview Village Estates' Sizzling Summer BBQ is set to open the doors at 4:00 p.m.
- The Zombies Ultimate Survival event begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Haunted Town of Lil Sur Mer.
- Family Game Night featuring Bingo at 7:30 p.m. at Saskatchewan Landing Provincial Park.
- Family Game Night featuring Jeopardy at Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, taking place at 7:30 p.m.
- Night Caching with an evening espionage theme at 8:30 p.m. at Buffalo Pound Provincial Park.
- Cosmic Discover presented by EYES at the Cypress Hills Observatory, kicking off at 9:00 p.m. with a presentation at 10:00 p.m.
Sunday's events will include;
- A hike to the Nicolle family homestead in Buffalo Pound, starting at the Park Office at 10:00 a.m.
- Craft club at the Saskatchewan Landing at 10:00 a.m.
- Live music at the Amphitheatre in Cypress Hills beginning at 7:30 p.m.
- Cosmic Discovery presented by EYES at the Cypress Hills Observatory takes place at 9:00 p.m. with a presentation at 10:00 p.m.
