Grab a blizzard today to help out Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation

Today is a sweet day for a great cause across Saskatchewan, as Dairy Queen locations in the province celebrate Miracle Treat Day in support of the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.

“It’s one of the coolest fundraisers of the year,” said Jada Kook, Community Engagement Manager with the Foundation.

“People can go to any Dairy Queen location in the province of Saskatchewan and pick up a Blizzard Treat, and all net proceeds from those Blizzards will come to Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.”

The event has proven to be a major success in the past. “All those funds raised—last year on Miracle Treat Day, we raised $249,000 in Saskatchewan, which is huge,” Kook noted.

“They helped fund specialized pediatric and maternal equipment, innovative research, and vital programming, keeping kids in our province close to home and with their families.”

The money goes where it’s needed most, whether that’s programming in the hospital’s Child Life Zone to help kids have fun during their stay, or supporting remote care across the province.

“We have over 83,000 visits from kids and moms-to-be each year at the hospital,” Kook said.

“And those kids and moms are coming from 575 different communities in Saskatchewan.”

Kook encouraged everyone to take part, whether it’s a solo Blizzard run or a group order for the office.

“I think just go out with your families or order into your office and enjoy ice cream while also helping Saskatchewan kids. It’s a win-win type of fundraiser for sure.”
