A new park is set to open in southwest Winnipeg.
The playground, located in the Ridgewood West neighbourhood, will feature swings, an accessible play structure, and independent play equipment suitable for children aged 2 to 12 years old.
City officials broke ground on the playground on Wednesday and expect it to be ready by the end of September.
"It’s a meaningful investment that will serve Charleswood families for decades and reflects our commitment to building vibrant, family-friendly neighbourhoods as our community grows,” said Evan Duncan, Councillor for Charleswood - Tuxedo – Westwood.
The park will also have new benches, a picnic table and trees, as well as a view of the nearby pond.
The budget for the playground is approximately $230,000 and is funded through the City of Winnipeg’s Land Dedication Reserve Fund.
The park will be located at 255 Couture Cres.
