The Battle of the Foothills was going full tilt last night under drizzly conditions in Rocky Mountain House.

The drivers are not just racing for the Battle of the Foothills Championship; they're also battling it out to be declared the overall World Professional Chuckwagon Association champion.

High River's Jason Glass is sitting in first place overall in the World Standings, but he's now only 2.5 points ahead of Calgary's Chanse Vigen after last night's heats.

Glass is coming off a big win at the Strathmore Stampede last week.

Glass has taken the title four times while Vigen has won it twice.  Both the World Champion Chuckwagon Driver and Outrider will be decided after all the heats run and the totals are tallied on Sunday.

As far as the Battle of the Foothills goes, the top four drivers in the aggregate after Saturday night's heats move onto the final Championship heat on Sunday to decide the winner of the Battle of the Foothills.

Darcy Flad had the top time of the night with Glass coming in 5th, as DeWinton's Dayton Sutherland tied for 17th, and Jordie Fike from Blackie finished in 26th out of 36 wagons.

Here are the updated World Chuckwagon Standings after last night and the results from Day One on Wednesday night.
