Drivers and residents in the northwest part of the city may want to plan an alternate route, as 6th Avenue NW is temporarily closed for road construction between 4th Street NW and 8th Street NW.
The closure, which began earlier today (Thursday, August 14), is expected to last throughout the day but will be lifted at 5:00 p.m. for evening and overnight traffic.
Crews will return to the site tomorrow morning, Friday, August 15, at 8:00 a.m., and the road will be closed again as construction continues.
City officials anticipate the work will be completed and the road fully reopened by the end of the day Friday.
