As we are getting into the dog days of summer, there is still plenty to do in the Foothills this weekend.

Let's take a look at what's happening this weekend:

Friday, August 15:

At this week's Nature Fridays event at the Environmental Education Centre, they will be teaching youth about mystical moths. This event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This is the final full weekend of the Nooks and Crannies Festival in Okotoks. As part of this festival, there are hidden pieces of art around town to be found. The pieces will be on display until Aug. 23.

Over at the Okotoks Art Gallery, they have their summer exhibits on display for all to see for free. One of the exhibits is their Member Show and Sale, while the other exhibit is the Colour Your World exhibit. As part of that exhibit, children are encouraged to pick up a crayon and start colouring. These exhibits will be up until Sept. 4.

The Okotoks Farmers' Market will be taking over the parking lot at the Viking Rentals Centre from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. People will be selling fresh food, treat, and more.

In High River, the Wild Rose Carnival is happening in the BSRC East Parking Lot. This event runs all weekend and there will be rides and attractions for everyone to enjoy. The event runs from noon until 10 p.m. this day.

The Veterans Crosswalk Dedication in High River is happening at 1 p.m. on the corner of Centre Street and Veterans Way.

Friday nights at the Okotoks Rec Centre are Youth Nights, and those who are 18 years old and younger are able to enjoy the pool and gymnasium at the Rec Centre until 10 p.m. and the Youth Centre until 11 p.m.

The Wild Rose Carnival is happening all weekend long in High River.

Down in Diamond Valley, the Car Cruise and Poker Rally is starting at 9 a.m. As part of this event, there will be a memorable cruise around the Foothills, as well as a silent auction and barbeque.

The Towns of Okotoks, High River, and Diamond Valley have partnered to bring Foothills residents a monthly Repair Café. The Repair Café will take place at the High River Library from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and people can bring in the electronics, small appliances, and more to get fixed.

In Longview, the Longview Country Market will be taking place across from the Longview Elementary School from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This market will happen each Saturday this summer.

At the Okotoks Elks Club, they are hosting a perogy lunch and meat draw. Lunch is served at noon.
