The Weyburn Police Service responded to 82 calls for service during the week of August 4th to 11th, with a Bylaw of the week featuring the City of Weyburn's Noise Bylaw.

The bylaw prohibits loud, unnecessary, or unusual noise that disturbs others. This could be from gatherings, vehicles, pets, or other activities, at any time of the day.

A vehicle collision last Tuesday at the intersection of Fifth Street and First Avenue resulted in one vehicle being towed from the scene, and another sustained minor damage. However, there were no injuries, only a ticket, SGI demerits, and other lessons for a young driver.

An uptick in calls for domestic disturbances came in last week to the WPS. In most cases, officers were able to mediate the situations peacefully. There were also 10 calls for Mental Health and Well-being checks.

In the early morning hours of August 9th, police were called twice to a local drinking establishment, which resulted in charges laid for Assault as well as Assault Causing Bodily Harm, and more charges pending in one of the incidents.
