The Roughriders will be playing in Saskatoon during the preseason in 2026
Categories

Next year the Bridge City will be the site of a Canadian Football League (CFL) preseason game for the first time since 1991.

On Friday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders announced that Saskatoon will be hosting a game featuring the Saskatchewan Roughriders during the exhibition portion of the schedule.

“Bringing a Roughrider game to Saskatoon for the first time in over 30 years is truly special,” said President and CEO Craig Reynolds in a team news release. “The passion of our fans in Saskatoon and the surrounding area has fuelled us for decades and hosting this game at Griffiths Stadium is a celebration of that passion as well as a representation of what it means to be a team for the entire province. We couldn’t be more excited to share this moment with them in their own backyard and later in the season to offer Rider Nation a 10th high-energy, regular-season home game at Mosaic Stadium.”

On more than 30 occasions since 1982, the Roughriders have held their training camp in Saskatoon, preparing for the season at Griffiths Stadium near the campus of the University of Saskatchewan.

Tickets for the game in Saskatoon will be sold separately, with more details to be released in the future.

While the City of Regina will not host a preseason game in 2026, a 10th regular season game will be played at Mosaic Stadium due to the Toronto Argonauts being forced to play some road games away from their home of BMO Field due to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

One of the home games will be played in Regina at Mosaic Stadium. The Argos will also play “home” games in Winnipeg and Hamilton.

Ten games will remain in the Roughriders season ticket packages, but instead of nine regular season games and one preseason game, it will be ten regular season games including the Argos “home” game.

The BC Lions will also be forced to play “home” games away from BC Place due to the World Cup. Official details about the Lions plan for next year haven’t been released.
