A gold medal dream has been dashed for Shaunavon's Mason Fauser and former Swift Current resident Aiden Kilshaw at the Canada Summer Games.

They lost 9-4 to Team Quebec in the semifinal of the baseball tournament today.

Fauser didn't play in the game, while Kilshaw went 0 for 3 from the leadoff position.

Saskatchewan's best chance came as they left the bases loaded in the bottom of the 6th inning.

They had previously beaten Quebec in both the preliminary round and qualifying round of the tournament. Saskatchewan will now play for bronze tomorrow.

Fauser has hit 2 for 9 with a walk in the tournament. He also earned a win on the mound in relief.

Kilshaw is 3 for 18 at the plate with 4 walks and has been hit by pitches twice.
