Estevan is set to host the ICE World Conference on September 23 and 24, bringing together innovators, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders from across Canada. Executive director of the Southeast Tech Hub, Gordon Moore, joined a local broadcast this week to highlight the exciting lineup of events, including a pitch competition modeled after Shark Tank and Dragon’s Den.
The pitch competition will feature up to eight participants presenting new business ideas to a panel of judges, with opportunities for seed funding to turn their concepts into reality. While the competition highlights innovations in farming, Moore emphasized that ideas from energy, transportation, AI, and other sectors are welcome.
“This conference is about showcasing innovation in rural communities and bringing people to Estevan who want to do business here,” Moore said. “We want the community to get involved—whether by volunteering, sponsoring, exhibiting, or simply welcoming delegates to show off how cool Estevan is.”
The conference will also feature a rural innovation exhibit, presentations from nuclear and energy experts, and networking opportunities with 300–500 delegates from across the country.
Residents can get involved by participating in the pitch competition, sponsoring, exhibiting, or attending the conference. For more information, visit SETHub.ca.
