The City of Estevan continues to prioritize infrastructure improvements and community development, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for its residents.

Recent sidewalk replacement projects have been completed in various neighborhoods, including Veterans Crescent and Maple Bay. These upgrades aim to enhance pedestrian safety and accessibility. While some construction challenges arose, such as the need to relocate work from Veterans Crescent to Nicholson due to resident concerns, the city remains committed to addressing these issues promptly.

In addition to sidewalk improvements, the city is actively addressing road maintenance concerns. Plans are in place to reseal a manhole on Pine Crescent and repair sunken patches on Perkins Avenue and 4th Avenue. These efforts aim to maintain the integrity of the city's roadways and ensure safe travel for all residents.

The city's commitment to infrastructure extends to its water and sewage systems. Ongoing investigations into groundwater levels on Sun Valley Drive and plans to address drainage issues on Duncan Road demonstrate the city's proactive approach to managing water resources and preventing potential flooding.

Beyond infrastructure, Estevan is experiencing positive community growth. Approximately 30 families associated with Aurora have recently relocated to the city, contributing to its vibrant community. These new residents are actively participating in local organizations, such as Living Hope Church and the Church of God, fostering a spirit of community and support.

The city's efforts to improve infrastructure and welcome new residents reflect its dedication to creating a thriving and inclusive community for all.

Laughter erupted over talks of a local beaver dam in the valley that “went up overnight,” proving that some builders don’t have to wait for city permits!
