For the third straight time at the Canada Summer Games, Team Saskatchewan has finished on the podium in Men's Baseball.
Saskatchewan earned the bronze medal on Saturday with a 4-2 win over Prince Edward Island (PEI).
Muenster’s Cade Britz had an RBI and scored a run in the win.
All of the runs in the game came in the first two innings.
PEI opened the scoring with two runs in the first inning.
Saskatchewan came back scoring a pair of runs in both the second and third innings.
Mitchell Rauckman pitched a complete game for Saskatchewan, allowing two runs on six hits and picked up five strikeouts.
Saskatchewan won the bronze medal at the Canada Summer Games in 2022 and won the gold medal back in 2017.
Along with Britz, Jarret Rude and Chad Hofmann of Muenster and Pryor Dyck of Watrous were members of Team Saskatchewan.
Elsewhere at the Canada Summer Games in St. John’s Newfoundland, Wynyard’s Daniel Laverty finished just short of the podium.
Laverty ended up in a tie for 4th place in the Single Handed ILCA Sailing with 33 points after nine races.
Through the first half of the 2025 Canada Summer Games, Saskatchewan is in 7th place with four medals, one gold medal along with three bronze medals.
After a transition day on Sunday, the second half of the Canada Summer Games will begin on Monday with mostly training day.
For the first time ever, Women’s Baseball will be held at the event.
Saskatchewan begins their schedule on Tuesday with a matchup against Manitoba. They will also meet Prince Edward Island tomorrow.
Humboldt’s Camden Suchan is a part of Team Saskatchewan.
Women’s Volleyball will also get underway on Tuesday. Saskatchewan will meet Quebec in the first matchup.
