A number of local athletes will begin their quest for gold as the Canada Summer Games enters its second week in St. John’s, Nfld.
On Tuesday, Assiniboia’s Kyle Giraudier and Brady Giraudier will be taking part in the men’s special Olympics 100 metre run.
Moose Jaw’s Kathryn Rogers will be competing in the women’s 1,500 metre run starting on Tuesday.
Saskatchewan’s men’s box lacrosse team also begins play when they face PEI on Tuesday. Moose Jaw’s Kashton Smith and Chase Folk will be represented Saskatchewan on the team.
Later in the week, Moose Jaw’s Jadyn Palaschuk will be competing in the 5,000 metre run.
Currently, Saskatchewan has four medals: one gold and three bronze.
