A Red Deer non-profit organization empowering women to reach economic independence has received a $20,000 grant.
Dress for Success Central Alberta has received a $21,711 grant from the Government of Alberta’s Community Initiatives Program to support its new Career Hub, an online platform aimed at advancing economic empowerment for women across Central Alberta.
The Career Hub will provide 24/7 access to accredited education, pre-employment training, and ongoing community support. It is designed to help women prepare for their first job, transition into new roles, and grow into leadership positions.
“Alberta’s government proudly supports Dress for Success and its commitment to empowering women through employment services and economic development,” said Tanya Fir, Minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women. “Organizations like yours help women gain confidence, secure employment and achieve financial independence.”
Lee Ann Waines, board chair of DFSCA, said the funding will allow the organization to create accessible, impactful resources for women in the community.
The Career Hub is set to launch this fall, marking a significant step forward in DFSCA’s mission to support women on their path to economic independence.
