Whether you can sing, dance, act, juggle, or have a unique talent to show off for a worthwhile cause, the Communithon Entertainment Committee is now accepting applications for entertainers at the 44th annual Weyburn Communithon.

The annual telethon will be broadcast live from the Weyburn Legion beginning on Friday, October 24th at 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 25th.

The lineup of entertainment and other features will help out seven essential non-profit organizations that provide life-changing services throughout Weyburn and surrounding areas:  Big Brothers Big Sisters Weyburn, Canadian Mental Health Association Weyburn branch, CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind), Weyburn Care-A-Van Society, Envision Counselling & Support Centre, Inclusion Weyburn, and Southeast Advocates.

"We're going to have the usual Office Olympics again and Airband competition Friday night, the Monster Mash dance party, and we're going to have our finale live in-house  'The Weymazing Race'. We're really looking forward to wrapping that up for the first year. It's been a huge success so far," shared Entertainment Chair Korryn Kubashek.

"I was on the first episode, and it was so fun to see what goes on behind the scenes that the camera doesn't show. We've had a lot of people inquire on how they can put a team in, so look forward to that for next year."

On the application, performers will need to provide biographical information for announcers to read, as well as how long the performance will be, if it is songs, which songs exactly, what equipment will be needed, and any other technical support required.

"October 1st is our deadline because it does take us time to get the schedule printed up,' she explained. "We try not to cut anybody's performance because everybody's performance is important to us."

"With it being community-wide, we want to showcase as many people as we can in the community, so we want to make sure that some get their time on there. We do have some artists that say, 'it's a band, we can fill 15 to 30 minutes, you tell us what you have room for and then we'll adjust our songs to that'."

Kubashek added that flash drives this year are being discouraged, as they tend to glitch out, so entertainers should plan to have any additional required audio to be used during their performance on their cell phones.
