Perfect beach season culminating with provincial title for locals

A pair of local teenagers has completed a flawless summer on the beach volleyball court.

Teddy-Lynn Yates and Emmerson Wiens captured the 14U Girls Provincial Beach Championship in Regina on Sunday, emerging from the 12-team field. 

The duo won three matches in the round robin action and tied another.

They then posted back-to-back straight-set wins in the quarterfinals and semifinals to book their ticket in the finals.

Wiens and Yates won the first set 21-18, lost the second set 18-21, and recovered in the third and deciding set 15-12 to win the provincial title.

The pair played in five tournaments this summer and claimed a gold medal in all of them.
