Police in Estevan are investigating after receiving two reports of a suspicious man who was allegedly recording youth at a local spray park. Officers say the complaints came in on Aug. 18, but the man had already left by the time they arrived. A potential suspect has since been identified and the investigation is continuing.

Police are reminding residents that timely and detailed reporting of suspicious activity gives officers the best chance to investigate. They are also encouraging parents to accompany children at spray parks, pools and green spaces, and to report concerning behaviour immediately.

In other calls for service, officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the Pleasantdale neighbourhood, where they mediated the situation and one of the parties agreed to leave the home for the night. Police say additional resources were recommended to help those involved.

A wellness check was also carried out after family members were unable to reach a man by phone. He was located safe and well.

Meanwhile, a traffic stop resulted in an impaired driving charge after a man failed a roadside screening test. Police say he later provided two breath samples of 130 milligrams per cent, well over the legal limit. His license was suspended and his vehicle impounded.
