A southwest woman is set to rappel down one of the largest skyscrapers in Saskatchewan this weekend, during The Regina 2025 Drop Zone fundraiser for Easter Seals Saskatchewan.
Swift Current's Heather Christie will be helping to support Easter Seals Saskatchewan programs and services offered through SaskAbilities, including the only fully accessible camp in the province, Camp Easter Seal.
The 48-year-old shared that she'll be dressing up as Venom and is set to drop at 2:00 p.m. this Saturday.
"The drop zone is a fundraiser for Easter Seals, and it's tied into SaskAbilities, where they're raising money for individuals experiencing disabilities to go to camp," she said. "It's an amazing thing, and all funds raised from the Regina Drop Zone are going to stay right here in Saskatchewan."
The action will be streamed live on Facebook, and folks are encouraged to tune in or stop by.
"I know that Devon Oman had done this years ago, and I thought it was super cool," Christie added. "Then I got an email and I thought to myself; Heather, you're 48, if you're going to do it, then do it."
Anyone looking to support Christie and the cause can head to the Regina Easter Seals Drop Zone website, visit www.saskabilities.ca, or purchase raffle tickets or a chance to win one of nine prizes.
