The City of Red Deer is inviting residents to apply to serve on a council committee or the Central Alberta Regional Assessment Review Board (RARB).
“Serving on a committee or board is a powerful way to share your voice, build leadership skills, and help shape decisions that impact daily life in our city and region,” said Catherine Jackson, deputy clerk.
“We encourage anyone with the time, expertise, or passion for public service to consider applying.”
Council committees provide advice and recommendations to city council on issues, services and policies. Volunteers are being sought who want to give back to their community, bring lived experience or professional expertise, and can commit time for monthly or bi-monthly evening meetings. Terms range from one to three years.
The Central Alberta Regional Assessment Review Board is also recruiting new members to hear property assessment complaints and make impartial decisions. Board members receive paid remuneration, mandatory provincial training, and serve three-year terms beginning in January 2026. Hearings are held weekdays and require flexible daytime availability.
Residents can learn more and apply to a council committee or RARB on the city website.
