The Marysburg Royals season came to an end last night as they lost out in the Saskatoon Senior Baseball League championship final to the Saskatoon Outlaws.
To reach the finals, the Royals had to play two games on Tuesday.
Marysburg defeated the Saskatoon River Pirates. 8-5 to begin the night.
It was a quick start for the Royals as they scored 8 runs in the first three innings.
Curtis Strueby had 2 RBI to lead the team at the plate.
Joel Bauml got the win on the mound as he pitched three innings, allowing an unearned run on one hit with six strikeouts.
With the win, the Royals advanced to the final against the Outlaws. But the Outlaws used the extra rest to their advantage as they beat the Royals 6-4.
The Outlaws opened up with 4 runs in the first inning.
Marysburg closed the gap to 5-4 but that was as close as they get.
Tom Hooker and Cole Bauml each had 2 hits with an RBI for Marysburg.
Jett Marshak tossed 4 innings and took the loss.
Some of the Royal players will be extending their season taking part in the National Championships this weekend in Regina.
