On June 25, Wetaskiwin RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit launched an investigation into a suspect believed to be trafficking fentanyl in the Wetaskiwin area.

The investigation, which involved several RCMP units, led officers to execute a search warrant on Aug. 14 at a property in Edmonton with help from the Edmonton Police Service Tactical Unit.

Police seized 68 grams of suspected fentanyl, three grams of suspected methamphetamine, 1.5 grams of suspected cocaine, nine grams of suspected psilocybin, as well as scales, baggies and Canadian currency.

Tara Mulley, 40, of Edmonton, is charged with:

  • two counts of trafficking fentanyl,

  • three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and

  • one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

She was released by a justice of the peace and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
