Team Saskatchewan’s men’s box lacrosse team improved their record to 3-0 after a pair of wins yesterday at the Canada Summer Games in St. John’s, Nfld. 

They opened the day with a 5-3 win over Manitoba. Moose Jaw’s Kashton Smith had two assists in the game.  

Later in the day, Saskatchewan came away with a 7-3 win over New Brunswick. Smith finished with two goals and an assist. Also on the men’s box lacrosse team from Moose Jaw is Chase Folk. 

Saskatchewan finishes up round robin play on Thursday against the 0-3 host Newfoundland team. 

Over to athletics, Assiniboia brothers Bradyn and Kyle Giraudier competed in the men’s special Olympics 200 metre run.  

Braydn finished first in his heat with a time of 23.67, while Kyle finished fourth in his heat in a time of 25.92. 

The finals for the men’s special Olympics 200 metres is Saturday. Tomorrow, Braydyn will be running for a medal in the men’s special Olympics 100 metres. 

Also going for a medal tomorrow from Moose Jaw will be Katie Rogers. She is in the medal heat in the women’s 1,500 metre run.
