Flirt Cosmetics Studio is breaking new ground, literally. The popular Cochrane beauty and wellness studio has officially started construction on a brand-new 4,500-square-foot location just a block away from its current 3rd Avenue space.
“It’s super exciting because the building is being custom built with everything we need in mind,” said Founder and co-owner, Ciara Ramsden. “We started Flirt in 2016 out of the den of my house, and I never imagined we’d be here today. The community really grew this business.”
Ramsden said the expansion is the result of years of organic growth, driven by demand from the local community.
“When my husband got uncomfortable with people coming into our house, I moved into a small commercial space, then grew into a 600-square-foot studio, and now we’re building something that’s really next level,” she said. “My business partner, Sheri Meyer, and her husband Corey are phenomenal at business growth and development, and their support has helped us get to this point.”
The new building will reflect the character of Cochrane’s historic downtown while offering more space to bring Flirt’s two current locations under one roof. The project will comply with downtown architectural guidelines while adding a fresh, modern flair.
“It’s going to draw a lot of attention because of the architecture, and it’s really going to meet our needs while keeping the charm of the town,” Ramsden said.
Beyond providing world-class beauty and wellness services, the new Flirt location is expected to have a positive impact on Cochrane’s local economy. The larger studio will create additional employment opportunities, with Ramsden noting that the team is already onboarding new staff. “We’re excited to grow our team and provide more jobs right here in Cochrane,” she said.
Expected to open in 2026, the expanded studio will allow Flirt to offer a wide range of services, from brows and facials to injectables, body contouring, and pelvic floor strengthening. Retail offerings remain a key part of the business, focusing on results-driven, medical-grade skincare and cosmetics.
“We really focus on products that create scientifically proven results,” Ramsden explained.
One of Flirt’s most innovative tools, the Swiss-made Aura photography system, will continue to play a central role in helping clients track progress.
“Oftentimes what we see with the naked eye is not what’s really going on under the skin,” Ramsden said. “Aura allows us to prove results with precision photography. It builds confidence for clients that they’ve spent their money wisely.”
Ramsden emphasized that the expansion won’t change the welcoming, community-focused atmosphere Flirt is known for.
“We’re the same Flirt, just with new digs,” she said. “It’s going to be awesome for us, and awesome for Cochrane. People will still feel that warm, cozy vibe, but we’ll be able to serve even more clients and bring our world-class treatments to the community.”
The new location also strengthens Cochrane’s downtown as a hub for small business growth. By investing in a custom-built, architecturally striking building, Flirt contributes to the revitalization of the historic core, drawing visitors and supporting neighboring shops and restaurants.
“We love being part of downtown Cochrane,” Ramsden said. “Our growth here means more people coming into town, more energy, and more opportunity for other local businesses to thrive.”
With construction underway, Cochrane residents can look forward to a modern, larger Flirt Cosmetics Studio that keeps the heart of the community at its core, combining cutting-edge treatments, professional retail products, and a friendly, personal atmosphere while contributing to local economic growth and downtown revitalization.
