It's the final opportunity for racers to win some points for the Estevan Motor Speedway, as tonight is their championship night. Across all of their divisions, racers will be battling to get the last points they need for the top spot in their division.

Speedway President Brad Pierson says that there'll be plenty of competition that night.

"We have five divisions that will be crowned new champions. So we're running all five of our normal classes: the seven to thirteen year olds, the slingshots, the hobby stocks, the sport mods, the stock cars, and the modifieds, and every class is very exciting to watch. It'll just be a great night, the weather is going to really be good for us."

Pierson expects a few close battles to be played out in tonight's races as drivers hope to claim the top spot.

It'll also be busy in the stands as Pierson says it's often a night where Estevan comes out in force. Even with the extra people coming through, the Speedway is prepared for an exciting night.

"I don't think we have to do extra preparation, we still have our same amount of volunteers, our gate workers and everything, but I think our fan base and our driver base get a lot more excited for this night, and it's one of our bigger crowds. People are enjoying a lot of different things we're doing with our concession specials. Just the attitude towards our whole program is, I think, way more exciting for people, and they're really excited to get out to the Speedway."

While it's the final races for the Speedway's racing divisions, people will be able to see another race in a whole other league later on September 13th.

"Our Enduro race, for people that aren't familiar, that's different than a regular race program. That's where you can take a certain car off the street, take the glass out of it. remove all the plastic, do some safety things, and go pretend you're a car racer."

The gates open for tonight's races at 7 pm.
