The pool at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex (BSRC) will be closed longer than expected.
The old leisure basin will close on Oct. 3, with the new basin opening mid-January 2026.
During the closure, work will be combined, including completing ventilation upgrades to avoid additional disruptions.
Fall aquatics registration will open on Aug. 25 at noon.
To lessen the impact of the extended closure, all active aquatics passes as of Oct. 3 will be paused for the duration of the closure. The passes will be reactivated upon reopening, with a free one-month extension applied.
Alternatively, patrons holding aquatics passes that expire after Oct. 3 can request a refund.
“Thank you for your patience as we complete this work safely and to standard, creating a better recreation facility for all,” the Town of High River said in a media release.
