The Estevan Kinette Club brought the community together with sizzling support for a great cause. On a cloudy afternoon outside the Co-op, the Kinettes hosted a hamburger and hot dog sale, raising funds for Telemiracle 50, Saskatchewan’s long-running telethon that supports medical needs across the province.

“We’re here thanks to the Co-op, raising money for Telemiracle 50,” said Krissy Wallman, the Telemiracle representative for the Estevan Kinettes. “It’s a great way to get the community involved and support a cause that helps so many.”

The fundraiser ran until 1:00 PM and was part of a larger effort by the Kinettes to make this milestone year extra special. Wallman shared that the club is planning a “Big Bang” event this winter, along with their annual auction and the return of their popular cash calendars in the next couple of months.

“We’re hoping to try some new things to raise even more money this year,” Wallman said. “Telemiracle is celebrating its 50th year, and we want to make it count.”

The Estevan Kinette Club meets on the first Monday of every month at 7:00 PM at the Estevan Diversified Services (EDS) building. Wallman, a member for nine years, encourages anyone interested in volunteering to join. “It’s a great way to make friends, have fun, and give back to the community.”
