AUGUST 23rd Report: 

 Intimate Partner Assault: 

At about 4:10 PM Friday afternoon, Community Cadets reported a physical fight between two males in the 200 block 8th Street. Investigation revealed that a 33 year-old male had assaulted his partner by punching and kicking him in the upper body.  The victim did not require medical attention.  The accused was later released on appropriate police imposed conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on October 30th to answer to one count of assault. 

 

Arrest Warrants: 

A male was observed to be acting furtively in the 100 block 7th Street by a patrolling member around 5:40 PM Friday afternoon.  A records check returned that the 23 year-old suspect was the subject of a warrant for arrest for failing to comply with a probation order.  He was subsequently located within a store and taken into custody.  He was processed and released from custody to appear in court on September 25th. 

 

An 18 year-old male was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by police just before 4:00 AM Saturday morning.  A records check returned that the suspect was the subject of a warrant for arrest for failing to appear in court and a second warrant for failing to comply with an undertaking.  Both warrants were endorsed and he was released from custody to appear in court on September 22nd. 

 

Order Breached: 

During the same traffic stop above, a 19 year-old male was found to be breaching a condition of a release order by not abiding by the 9:00 PM – 5:00 AM curfew.  It was also learned that he was not residing at the court ordered address contained on the order.  He was brought into custody and will appear before the court later today. 

 

Drugs and Bear Spray from Traffic Stop: 

At about 1:20 AM Saturday morning, a traffic stop was conducted in the 100 block Highland Avenue. During the ensuing investigation, a can of bear spray and a quantity of methamphetamine was recovered. A 22 year-old male from Ste Rose du Lac was arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.  The accused was later released on appropriate police imposed conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.  He was also issued tickets for the unlawful transportation of cannabis and the unlawful transportation of liquor. 

 

Other Arrests: 

Five people were brought into custody to sober up from four separate incidents. 

 

AUGUST 24th Report: 

Possession of a Weapon 

At 3:55 pm, Police were called to a situation of a male brandishing a knife in the 900 block of Victoria Ave. The 25-year-old male was located with an open folding knife and was wearing a face mask. He was charged with Possession of a weapon and disguise with intent and was held for court. 

 

Fail to comply with Release Order, Resist Arrest 

At 10:20, a 31-year-old male was arrested in the 1800 block of Rosser Ave, as a result of an ongoing investigation where it’s alleged the male failed to abide by his conditions not to communicate with the involved female.  He also breached his curfew condition. While being arrested the subject physically resisted arrest. He was charged with three counts of breach of release order and resisting arrest. The accused was held in custody for court.   

 

Distribute Intimate Images 

As a result of an ongoing investigation from May, a 31-year-old male was charged with distributing intimate images. He was later released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date. 

  

Assault  

On August 14th, a complaint was received from a female stating she had been assaulted by her partner. The victim did not require medical attention from the assault. The 32-year-old male turned himself into BPS and was charged with assault and later released on an undertaking.
