Visitors to Banff National Park will need to plan their soaks for next few months, as the Banff Upper Hot Springs will close for maintenance and facility upgrades beginning September 2.
The closure is expected to last through December 2025.
A long-standing tradition in the park, the Upper Hot Springs offers a unique outdoor experience, with 100 per cent natural mineral water heated to between 37 and 40 ºC (98–104 ºF) and set against the striking peaks of Mount Rundle and Cascade Mountain. The mineral-rich waters feature high levels of sulphate, calcium, bicarbonate, magnesium, and sodium, drawing visitors for both relaxation and wellness.
