Weyburn powerlifters off to Costa Rica

Weyburn is being represented at the Sub-Junior Powerlifting World Championships, which got underway Monday in San Jose, Costa Rica.  

Chelsea MacNeill, Calla Hrynewich, and Avryelle Molnar are part of the Team Canada contingent, which is 37 athletes strong. There is one other connection to Weyburn with the event. The head coach of Team Canada is Ryan Fowler. 

“All three girls have been working extremely hard to make this team,” Fowler said in a written statement. “We are excited to see how we place and enjoy the experience of being on the National Team competing against countries from around the world.” 

The World Championships go until September 5th.
