Emergency crews were dispatched early Monday morning to the intersection of Fourth Street and Second Avenue following a two-vehicle collision that fortunately resulted in no serious injuries.

“Just before 8:00 am, Police, EMS, and Fire were all dispatched,” said Inspector Tyler McMillen of the Estevan Police Service. “EMS checked everyone out at the scene, and they were sent on their way. One driver has been charged for proceeding from a stop sign before it was safe to do so.”

The incident is part of a concerning trend in Estevan, where several collisions have occurred in high-traffic areas during morning hours. McMillen noted that this marks the fifth collision in August, with multiple incidents reported at intersections like King Street and Peterson Drive.

“We just want people to take it easy,” McMillen emphasized. “If you have to change your route because it’s tough to cross those streets in the mornings, please do so. Just try to make it to your destination safely.”

With school returning soon and traffic increasing, the Estevan Police Service is reminding drivers to slow down, stay alert, and be mindful of pedestrians and other vehicles—especially during peak hours.
