The City of Swift Current has advised residents of a significant sidewalk closure in downtown Swift Current set to begin on Tuesday morning.
The pedestrian sidewalk on the Second Avenue Overpass will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. from Tuesday to Friday this week, allowing work to be done inside the concrete abutments.
A walking detour is available from Third Avenue North East onto North Railway Street, then along South Railway Street and onto Third Avenue South East.
Additionally, SwiftTransit is offering pedestrians in certain locations affected by the sidewalk closure free rides between downtown and the south side during the work.
Motorists can expect delays, as traffic will be periodically reduced to one lane and flagpersons will be directing traffic.
