The Cochrane Integrated Arts Society (CIAS) is excited to announce the 6th Annual Cochrane Culture Days will be held on Sept. 6 and 7.

The weekend celebration of local arts and culture will kick off Saturday, Sept. 6 at the Cochrane Farmers’ Market at the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Entertainment includes the Celtic band The Drowsy Maggies, the Stoney Mini Thni Dancers, a demonstration from Ga-On Taekwondo Academy, and an interactive drumming circle led by Circles of Rhythm. Imagine That YYC will also provide face painting.

On Sunday, Sept. 7, Culture Days moves to Centennial Plaza in the heart of the Historic Downtown (1st St. W.) during the Cochrane Classic Car Club’s Fall Colours Car Show. Performances will feature Westwinds Summer Jazz, Cochrane Pipe Band, Six By Six, Mountain Mardi Gras Hot Jazz, Melodic Mix, and Hippocratic Oath Jazz Band. Imagine That YYC will also be on location.

Indigenous art will be showcased at The Station Greenspace, where Wazin Îchinabi Ti will raise a tipi, and an artisan sale will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the House of Oneness.

Culture Fest is also being held on Sept. 6 at the SLS Centre, making it a delightful weekend for Cochrane.
