Nanton residents have a chance to leave a lasting legacy in the community through the Public Asset Donation Program.
The program provides a way for community members to enhance public spaces, from planting a tree to adding a memorial bench, or creating a park feature that encourages connections.
“Your donation creates a legacy that enriches the lives of residents and visitors alike,” the Town of Nanton’s website said.
Through the program, individuals, families, service clubs, and businesses can honour a loved one, celebrate a milestone or an achievement, and support the long-term improvement of the community’s parks, trails, and public spaces.
Donated items must meet the town’s requirements for quality, durability, and long-term maintenance, such as benches and picnic tables, trees and shrubs, playground and park equipment, bike racks, or decorative stones.
Items will be installed in 2026 in approved public spaces, such as town parks, trails, and playgrounds, sports fields and recreation areas, boulevards and landscaped areas, and memorial sites.
Trees for the program will be planted along the 18th and 19th Street boulevards.
“Your contribution helps keep Nanton beautiful, welcoming, and full of community spirit,” the town said.
To participate in the program, residents must submit a donation application form.
